Media Scenography - Video Mapping
Video content design and production lie at the heart of our work. By mastering trompe-l’œil and playing with perspectives, we dissolve the boundaries of the screen to create symbolic visuals that feel real and resonate with meaning.
We have extensive experience in creating environments across a wide variety of surfaces, including custom-shaped LED screens, water curtains and holographic fabrics.
The Founder
Gilles Leempoels is the founder and the video director of Studio Sheji.
Driven by a deep curiosity for cultures around the world, he has spent the past twenty years imagining and designing visual concepts through video content for projects and resident shows across Asia, America, Europe, and the Middle East.
With a background in visual design and cinematology, Gilles took a major step into the world of live entertainment in 2008 when he joined The Circus Starring Britney Spears world tour in Los Angeles. He later collaborated for many years with the renowned director Franco Dragone and his highly talented team (former visionary behind some of Cirque du Soleil’s most iconic productions), contributing as a supervisor and designer to a series of internationally acclaimed shows. As part of this creative collaboration, he helped bring to life iconic productions such as The House of Dancing Water and Lido Paris Merveilles.
In 2021, Gilles led the scenic video content direction for ERA – Spirit of Shanghai, an internationally acclaimed show, overseeing both the creative vision and production. In 2025, as Video Director, he conceived and produced the visual content for the Trounwiessel, the royal ceremony marking the transfer of power of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg.
